📋 How to Enroll
Once you’re ready to join us at Waterview Early Learning Centre, getting started is easy! You can complete our online enrolment form or pop into the centre to collect a physical copy — whichever suits you best.
When enrolling, please bring or upload a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport, along with their immunisation records. These documents help us ensure your child’s safety and meet Ministry of Education requirements.
Our team is here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need guidance, please reach out — we’re always happy to help make the process smooth and stress-free.
What to bring for your child’s day with us
To help your child have a comfortable and enjoyable day at Waterview Early Learning Centre, we kindly ask parents to bring the following items:
- Three changes of weather-appropriate clothing – for playtime, outdoor activities, and any little accidents.
- A named sunhat – this will stay at the centre for daily outdoor use.
- Spare socks and undergarments – just in case they’re needed during the day.
- Nappies, if your child uses them.
- A wet bag – for any wet or soiled clothing (available for purchase from the centre if you prefer).
- A clearly named lunch box – packed with enough healthy food to keep your child energised throughout their booked hours.
- A named water bottle – which can be kept at the centre for regular use.
- Formula and bottles, if your child requires them.
- A comfort item, such as a cuddly toy or blanket, if it helps your child feel more at ease.
- Any prescribed medications, clearly labelled with your child’s name and expiry date.
- A pacifier in a sealed container, if your child uses one.
What To Expect
To help your child feel comfortable, we recommend a minimum of three settling visits. These visits allow your child to become familiar with our environment, routines, and teachers — all while having someone they know and trust by their side.
Parents are welcome to stay as long as needed during visits and are encouraged to call us anytime to check in, especially during the early days.
Our team is committed to helping every child feel safe, happy, and at home at our centre. If you ever have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with our Centre Manager for a friendly and supportive conversation.
How to Prepare
Saying your first goodbyes is never easy. Leaving your child for the first time can be an emotional experience, and it’s completely natural to feel concerned about their safety and well-being.
To make this new chapter a positive one, try to prepare yourself and your child with excitement. A confident and happy start helps your child feel secure and eager to explore their new environment.
Here are a few helpful tips that many parents find useful when preparing for this transition:
- Label and name everything your child brings to the centre.
- Get to know your child’s primary caregiver — this helps build trust and familiarity.
- Start following a routine about a week before your child’s first day, so they can adjust to their upcoming schedule with ease.
